PARIS (Reuters) – Airbus (PA:) will implement a mandatory part-time working scheme for some 3,000 employees in France from April 20 to May 17, unions said on Friday.
The measure will apply to sites in Toulouse, Nantes and Saint-Nazaire, it said.
Airbus later confirmed the scheme, saying it may be extended beyond mid-May if necessary as the planemaker grapples with the coronavirus crisis.
The “partial activity” or “partial unemployment” scheme, which is widely available to companies in France, allows firms to reduce working hours and provide workers with partial compensation that can be recovered from the government.
