There’s another team looking to move up in NFL Draft 2020, but this one already has its quarterback.
Instead, the Broncos may be looking to crash the top 10 in order to get a shiny new toy — Alabama wide receiver Jerry Jeudy — for second-year quarterback Drew Lock, according to the Colorado Springs Gazette’s Woody Paige.
The Broncos currently own the No. 15 pick in Thursday’s first round, but could be eyeing a move to No. 8 (Cardinals) or No. 10 (Browns), sources told Paige. Most mock drafts have Jeudy going as early as No. 11 to the Jets, but if Gang Green opts for an offensive tackle or a different receiver, the Raiders at No. 12 or 49ers at No. 13 could scoop up Jeudy before the Broncos pick at 15.
NFL Network reported earlier in the week that the Browns might be looking to trade back from No. 10 and draft Boise State tackle Ezra Cleveland.
Cortland Sutton was the Broncos’ No. 1 receiver last year, breaking out in his sophomore season for 72 receptions for 1,112 yards and six touchdowns. The next-leading receiver on the roster was DaeSean Hamilton, who caught 28 passes for 297 yards and a touchdown last season.
Lock, the Broncos’ second-round pick in 2019, took over at quarterback for the final five games of his rookie year, going 4-1.
