The Giants took another step toward revamping their defense.
After landing free-agent cornerback James Bradberry on Monday, GM Dave Gettleman agreed to a three-year, $30 million deal with linebacker Blake Martinez early Tuesday morning, according to NFL Network.
The 26-year-old led all linebackers with 114 solo tackles and collected one interception last season. He can also aid in the Giants’ pass rush after recording three sacks a year ago.
Martinez, who has struggled in coverage, started all 16 games for the Packers in each of the last three seasons and at 6-foot-2 and 237 pounds is durable and dependable, especially against the run at position the Giants had a need at.
