After whiffing on a pass-rusher from Florida in the third-round last year, the Jets took another swing at one this year.
Jabari Zuniga became the latest Jet with the team’s second (No. 79) of three third-round picks during Friday’s NFL Draft, and the second consecutive defensive player GM Joe Douglas chose. He isn’t a pure edge rusher, but Zunga is strong against the run and a versatile player.
Zuniga had 14 tackles and three sacks, but appeared in just five games this past season due to injuries to his ankle. It will be hard for him to be worse than last year’s third-round pick, Jachai Polite, who failed to make the team out of training camp.
