Reggie Miller uses Spike Lee mess to mock Knicks

Reggie Miller and Spike Lee on the same side against the Knicks. What in the name of 1994?

The Pacers Hall of Famer had some fun at the expense of the Knicks and their celebrity superfan with the two sides embroiled in a feud over an entrance into Madison Square Garden. Lee was stopped by MSG security on Monday night trying to enter in the employee entrance and was told to go in through the VIP entrance instead, leading to a confrontation that was caught on video.

“OOOOHHHHH have [sic] the MIGHTY have fallen.. This wouldn’t happen at Bankers Life Fieldhouse, maybe finally time to switch your allegiance Spike…” Miller, who famously quarreled with Lee during the 1994 playoffs using the famed director’s mocking as motivation, wrote on Twitter.

Lee and Miller have since reconciled, while the Knicks and Lee are suddenly headed in the opposite direction.

Lee said on ESPN’s “First Take” that he was harassed by Knicks owner James Dolan and would not attend another Knicks game this season. Lee, however, did say he would return next season.

The Knicks, though, later escalated the situation by calling Lee’s claims that he was never told of an entrance switch “laughable.”

The 37-24 Pacers, if nothing else, would provide a better chance for Lee to cheer on an NBA champion. Indiana has made the playoffs in eight of the past nine seasons, while the Knicks are in the midst of their seventh straight playoff-less season.
