Ryan Gosling set to play Ken opposite Margot Robbie in ‘Barbie’ movie

This film is shaping up to be plastic fantastic.

Ryan Gosling is in final negotiations to play Ken in the forthcoming “Barbie” film, sources have told Deadline.

The “Notebook” hunk, 40, would be getting dolled up to play the iconic Mattel character opposite Margot Robbie, 31, who has signed on to play the leading lady in the live-action Warner Bros. movie.

Gosling has not spoken publicly about the negotiations, but he purportedly passed on the role initially, citing his busy schedule. However, studio execs believed Gosling was the “only choice” to play Ken, according to Deadline, and persistently pursued him.

Now, Gosling is reportedly ready to sign on the dotted line, with filming scheduled to get underway at the beginning of next year.

Indie film directors Greta Gerwig (“Lady Bird,” “Little Women”) and her partner, Noah Baumbach (“Marriage Story,” “The Squid and the Whale”), have written the script, meaning the movie will likely be a quirky interpretation of Barbie and Ken’s fictitious love story.

Gosling’s casting as Ken could see him strip-off on-screen, showing off his ripped body — just as he did in the popular 2011 rom-com “Crazy, Stupid, Love.”

Fans took to social media to share their excitement at the news, with one person cooing: “If a movie has Ryan Gosling, I will be watching it. Ryan Gosling for the win 100%.”

Another shared side-by-side photos of Gosling and Ken, stating: “The resemblance is uncanny.”

Robbie was first linked to the “Barbie” film almost three years ago when her casting was announced back in January 2019.

The film has faced multiple delays, due to conflicting schedules and the COVID-19 pandemic.

Meanwhile, Gosling will next be seen on screens in the action thriller “The Gray Man.”

The father of two will play a CIA operative in the big-budget Netflix movie, which reportedly cost a whopping $200 million to make. Chris Evans also stars in the blockbuster and recently shared photos of bruises he sustained on the set.
